Making Masala Chai on a Wood Burning Stove with Snow All-Around

Join me on an incredible outdoor adventure as I revisit the wood-burning stove from a previous video, this time using proper wood and preparing authentic Indian chai in a winter wonderland setting.

Filmed at Swain’s Lock in Maryland, the landscape is a snowy paradise after a recent blizzard, with temperatures at -5°C. I start by lighting the stove using twigs and a solid fuel tablet, demonstrating step-by-step how to maintain a stable flame in windy conditions. Watch as I brew delicious masala chai, combining black tea, spices like cardamom, clove, cinnamon, freshly crushed ginger, and milk, accompanied by crispy rusks.

Along the way, I share tips on:

  • Starting a fire outdoors using a solid fuel tablet.
  • Ensuring stability for cooking equipment on a portable stove.
  • Staying warm and functional with mitten gloves.

Discover how relaxing and satisfying it is to cook outdoors in nature. I also highlight the versatility of the Gas One wood-burning stove and offer a practical review for outdoor enthusiasts.
